ferrari car logoFerrari S.p.A. is one of the well-known  sports car brands in the world. It was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929, through its company Scuderia Ferrari, who sponsored drivers and manufactured race cars in Maranello, Italy. The Ferrari S.P.A produced street-legal vehicles in 1947.  From its establishment up to the present time, the company continued its participation in racing especially in Formula One where it has had made a great name.

The famous Ferrari logo consists of symbols. The ‘prancing Horse’ on a yellow shield, with letter’s S F that means Scuderia Ferrari,  and with three stripes of on the top consisting of green, white and red that stands for Italian national colors.

The story behind this logo started on June 17,1923 when Enzo met Baracca’s mother Countess Paolina, after he winning the race at Savio track in Ravenna. She suggested that the prancing horse symbol should be use to bring good luck in his every race. It was known that his son, Count Francesco Baracca known as a World War One’s ace Italian Air Force had painted this symbol on the side of his planes and had won 34 victories during the war.

Ferrari in 1940, choose to print the horse in black as a sign of grief for Baracca squadron planes after he was killed on duty and added the canary yellow background which represents the color of his birthplace Modena. He also revised the logo by making the tail pointing upward than Baracca’s horse with tail pointing downwards.

The Ferrari aside from Scuderia Ferrari produces road cars like California, 458 Italia, 599 GTB Toriano, and FF that are run by different high-powered engines. It also numerous car models specified into super cars, bio fuel and hybrid cars, and concept cars.

By looking at the name of Ferrari and its logo the speed and fantastic sports cars appeal to our mind and emotion.
