hyundai car company logoThe Hyundai Motor Company, a division of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, is South Korea’s largest and the world’s fifth largest Automaker in terms of units sold per annum. It was founded by Chung Ju-Yung as Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company in 1947. Its headquarters is in Seoul, South Korea.

The Hyundai logo is just a regular badge at the first sight like other simple car logos. The oval that surrounds the H letter is actually representing Hyundai’s continuous expansion that now goes beyond the Asian continent. The slanted, stylized ‘H,’ in Hyundai logo is said to be a symbol of two people (the company and customer) shaking hands as a sign of appreciation. This shown importance of satisfaction given to Hyundai car owners made it unique among other car logos. With its constant increase in sales, the Hyundai logo proves its edge among other car logos.

In terms of sales performance, it is considered as the world’s fourth largest automaker as of 2009. As of 2011, it is the world’s fastest growing automaker for two years running. In 2008, Hyundai (without Kia) ranked as the eighth largest automaker. In 2010, Hyundai sold over 3.6 million vehicles worldwide.

It produces  SUV, Vans, commercial vehicles and concept cars and hybrid-electric  cars.

The company also has to project concerning the preservation of the environment. On April 23, 2008 Hyundai, Motor announced the beginning of a five-year project to turn 50 km² of infertile land into grassland by 2012. Hyundai is doing so with the help of the Korean Federation for Environmental Movement (KFEM). The project, named Hyundai Green Zone, is located 660 kms north of Beijing. The goal of the project is to end the recurring dust storms in Beijing, block esterification and protect the local ecosystem.

Hyundai operates the world’s largest integrated automobile manufacturing facility in Ulsan, which is capable of producing 1.6 million units annually. It employs about 75,000 persons worldwide. Hyundai vehicles are sold in 193 countries through some 6,000 dealerships and showrooms.
