Founded on May 9, 1950 by Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI), a state-owned industrial holding company, SEAT, S.A. is a known Spanish car manufacturing company. It started with a capital of 600 million pesetas, which is equivalent to almost 3.6 million euros in today’s money. The SEAT was built after the Spanish government together with the six Spanish banks known to be ‘Banco Urquijo’, ‘Banco Español de Crédito (Banesto)’, ‘Banco de Bilbao’, ‘Banco de Vizcaya’, ‘Banco Hispano-Americano’ and ‘Banco Central’ signed an agreement of alliance with an Italian car company Fiat that happened last October 26, 1948. The purpose of this partnership is to bring back the life of the major Spanish car manufacturing company.

There were lots of bidders on this partnership because lots of the car manufacturers want to pair with the big Spanish car manufacturer. Among the numerous bidders, the dominant were the German Volkswagen and Italian Fiat. However, Fiat proved that they are more worthy to be paired with for the following reason; First, Fiat was already known to Spain for it had built a number of aptitude relevant for SEAT, and it has proven a successful collaboration with the French company, Simca; and Secondly, Fiat experienced  a semi-protected market in Italy so it can easily adjust with Spain since both countries have customers of low-income and limited markets for cars during that period.

As SEAT Company continues to grow, the management has also thought of launching its own SEAT logo that will be posted on their cars. The reason for having car logos is not just to add beauty to the design of the cars launched. Car logos are also used as visual representation of the company behind every car released in the market. In this way, car logos can help in extending the popularity of a certain brand. Thus, it serves as a form advertisement. SEAT logo was designed with a silver-colored and styled capital letter “S” With a red background and the company name “SEAT” below it. Seat logo was designed following the name of the company itself.
