“Pony car” which is also known as Mustang is a type of American sports car that looks like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks. The company behind the creation of this car model is the Ford. The production of this model gave rise to its competitors like GM’s Chevrolet Camaro, AMC’s Javelin, and Chrysler’s revamped Plymouth Barracuda.
As the company grew, the creator of the Ford Mustang decided to create a logo that will represent their company just like other car logos. Mustang logo used a picture of a running Mustang Horse as a representation of the car model. Mustang horse is a free roaming horse in the North American West. This is what they want to convey to the people with the logo – that their cars are high in terms of speed and quality. Car logos represent the car models, the company and the people behind it. This is the reason why companies give enough time and effort in generating its design. Just like other car logos, the logo of Mustang may be simple, but it has an appeal to every user.
As the years go by, Mustangs grew larger and heavier with every model they launch in each year from 1971-1973. However, it returned to its original design in the year 1974. Although lots of pony cars undergo revisions and modifications, Mustang remained to its original design uninterrupted for five decades of Ford Company.
