Opel is a German Automobile company established in Russelsheim, Germany last January 21, 1862. The company started at first with the production of sewing machines with its founder who is Adam Opel. Just like other companies who also have their own car logos, Opel as well has its own logo. And the first logo of the company which they call as Opel Logo comes in a design which contains the initials of the owner, Adam Opel – “A” and “O.” In the year of 1886, the company decided to expand their business and have designed and produced bicycles.
Car logos are important in every car manufacturing company because it represents their organization. It also serves as an advertisement for their company to make people be more familiar with their car models and their designs. Just like other car logos, the logo of Opel had also undergone several modifications and redesigning. The company has redesigned and redesigned the Opel logo, from “A” and “O,” “Victoria Blitz” up to the company’s name itself which is “Opel.” Until lightning was officially used and included in the Opel logo in the year 1964 because in the sixties and seventies lightning became more and more important to the logo.
Finally, the logo was simplified in the year 1987 which follows their company motto that says, “less is more.” And they recorded the logo to the newly styled lightning and the ring as well as writing also “Opel” on it.
Opel is one of the most technologically advanced automobile manufacturers in Europe. It is also one of the popular car brands in the same country. Opel and its sister brand which is the Vauxhall in U.K sells vehicles in over 40 countries. It also operates 11 vehicle, power train and component plants in six countries and employs people around 60,000. As well as it serves the areas globally except the North America.
